Senior Tech Club

The Senior Tech Club is an ongoing online club where seniors learn to use their smart devices to their fullest potential. Membership is free and members gain access to a regular newsletter, an online community, and ongoing tech courses. The Senior Tech Club is founded and hosted by Don Frederiksen and focuses primarily on iPads and iPhones

Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) is an AARP subsidiary that provides an online community and learning platform for seniors. Their online program, Senior Planet is a platform that allows for a blended learning experience with multimedia content, self-paced learning, and a flexible approach to when and where the learning takes place. Resources include articles, videos, interviews, and tutorials that correspond to the content in their course books. They also host a pride discussion group for 2S-LGBTQ+ older adults.

SeniorNet offers resources and support for both individual tech learners and organizations. For individual older adults, SeniorNet offers networking services and events to keep seniors connected to each other in addition to tech support and connections to other resources. For senior-focused organizations, SeniorNet helps with digital capacity building and connections with discounted software and other resources. Users must make an account to access.

Saskatoon Council on Aging

The Saskatoon Council on Aging (SCOA) provides opportunities for older adults to learn to use technology in user-friendly formats. They offer both a free iPad lending library and mentoring programs that connect seniors with young people who provide tech support and digital literacy training. SCOA also offers paid one-on-one lessons for devices and software for seniors.

The Sunshine Centres

Sunshine Centres for Seniors is a non-profit organization providing social, recreational and health promotion day programs for seniors in the Greater Toronto Area. They offer both virtual and in-person programming and welcome seniors from newcomer communities, seniors with disabilities, and seniors from all ethnic communities, religions, cultures, racialized communities, gender identities, and sexual orientations. They offer several in-person and remote programs and events for 2S-LGBTQ+ seniors. The Sunshine Centres website also offers its own directory of resources for seniors in the GTA.
